Join us as Melbourne’s jazz royalty descend on Sparta Place, Brunswick for Jazz Nights.

Situated along Melbourne’s famous cultural strip Sydney Road, Sparta Place will come to life on Friday evenings in November and December with Melbourne’s finest musicians performing in an intimate boutique setting.

This is a free community event and patrons are encouraged to bring their own rugs and chairs. 

For a more intimate experience there are a very limited number of tables available for bookings.

Dolce plates will include Mediterranean Biscotti, Panettone and seasonal fruits.

For tables ordering multiple plates, please note that Cheese Plates will be served first.

Tables can accomodate from 2 - 6 people.
Larger group bookings will be grouped together, however seated at seperate tables.
Snack food and non-alcoholic beverages outside of these packages will be available for purchase during the course of the evening.
Support Jazz will begin at 6.30pm with the main performance at 8pm, please be seated by this time.

Take a trip back to the clubs of Paris in the 30's and 40's.
Rhythm guitar fuelled Jazz Manouche was swinging hot with Jean “Django” Reinhardt's Hot Club of France Quintet all the rage.
Esteemed Jazz vocalist, Julie O'Hara presents a collection of 
original songs, along with her vocalise lyrics to classic Reinhardt compositions and other gypsy swing gems.
O'Hara will be joined by guitarists extraordinaire, Jon Delaney and Sam O'Halloran along with the inimitable Jono Brown on bass.
This scaled back version of O'Hara's recent Melbourne International Festival of Jazz performances of 'La Grande Soiree' will leave you with a skip in your step and a song in your heart!

Direct from Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, Dany Maia brings the authentic sounds of Brazilian music to Australian audiences.

A reflection of the cultural melting-pot in which Dany was born and raised, her music merges the classic Bossa Nova, Jazz and Samba rhythms from Bahia and Rio de Janeiro.

Showcasing a broad range of Brazilian music the Dany Maia Quartet will present songs by Jobim, Stan Getz, Joao Gilberto and Cartola, a composer and poet considered to be a major figure in the development of samba.
Dany Maia embodies the true spirit of Brazil.

Paul Williamson has played in jazz, R&B and rock settings with such names as Vince Jones, Dire Straits, Men At Work and Renee Geyer. His own ensemble the ‘Paul Williamson Hammond Combo’ started in 1991, has released 5 CD’s ‘Red Hot Go’, ‘Live At The Esplanade’, 'Over The Rainbow' , 'Get Happy' and ‘Month of Mondays’ and has maintained long-running a residencies at venues like the Esplanade Hotel and Melbourne’s world famous Rainbow Hotel.
The band has been playing there on Mondays since November 1991.
